Relationship: Bride/betrothed (f.) (sponsa) of Thomas Hay (son of William) (Familial relationship)

Relationship
Bride/betrothed (f.) (sponsa)
Subject
Ada, wife of Thomas Hay (12C)
From Source
3/276/10 (C.A. Rent., 340, no. 57)
Firm date
circa 1201 X 18 April 1241
Dating Notes
prob. × 4 Dec. 1214; Death of William de Haya I × death of David de Haya. Thomas’ mother Eva’s attestation may argue for an early date in this range; David and Eva granted a joint charter in the early years of the 13th century. The phrasing, ‘for the welfare of the soul’ of King William, as opposed to ‘for the soul of William de la Haye’, suggests that the king was still alive, as opposed to William de la Haye.
