From Source
3/497/6 (Dunf. Reg., no. 188)
Firm date
circa 1209 X 5 November 1215
Dating Notes
Thomas of Restalrig witnessed a charter of King William, 1209×10 (RRS ii, no. 492) and was sheriff of Edinburgh at some point between 20 Aug. 1216 and 3 Nov. 1219 (Dunf. Reg., no. 155). He also witnessed a charter dating to 1227×30 (Moncreiffes, no. 2) and was involved in a dispute on 6 Oct. 1226 (_Dunf. Reg._, no. 218), and granted to Inchcolm Priory, 1220×26 (_Inchcolm Chrs._, no. 13). The wording of the description of the toft clearly suggests that Philip de Valognes is still alive.
