According to C. Neville, this charter dates to the period when Brice of Dunning was steward of the earldom. Neville, Thesis, Chapter 4, p. 175. Apparently after <em>Dunf. Reg.</em>, nos. 213 & 214, when Master Christian was in the service of Earl Malcolm I of Fife. See Watt, <em>Graduates</em>, 522.
