Sir Colin Campbell was knighted in 1280, and killed in 1296. There was no ‘King’ in Scotland from 1286 to 1292. The charter is probably of about 1295. ‘Duncan son of Ameledy’ and ‘Donald MacAnecol’ both appear in an Inhibition of 1294 in Paisley Registrum, p. 203 (Lamont Papers, p. 8).
