A shield bearing arms of three *garbs* is suspended from his neck. The horse has a fan crest and *caparisons* with the same arms.

Apparent double-sided seal of Alexander Comyn, earl of Buchan; the slight discrepancy between the obverse and reverse measurements supplied by Stevenson and Wood may suggest that the reverse was in fact a counterseal.
