Single sided seal (not obverse, as described by Stevenson and Wood), depicting the earl on horseback to *sinister*, wearing armour, a surcoat and a helmet. He is holding a sword in his right hand, slanting upwards behind his head, and a shield on his chest bears arms of two *chevronells*. His horse is covered with long *caparisons*, which (along with his surcoat) have the same arms as the shield. Below the horse is a *wyvern*. The background is covered with small *estoiles*.
