Counterseal depicting the earl on horseback to *sinister*, wearing armour, a surcoat and a round-topped helmet. His is holding a sword in his right hand, and a shield on his chest bears arms of two *chevronells*. His horse is covered with long *caparisons*, which have the same arms as the shield.

Dimensions: 1 1/8 in. diameter. SW III, p.626 (where it is noted that this seal was used in conjunction with Malise’s ordinary seal, which was the same as his predecessor Earl Malise’s seal).
