MALCOLVO DEO RECTORE REX SCOTTORVM (“David, by God’s rule king of the Scots”). In common with Alexander I’s and David I’s seals, the legend is the same on the obverse and reverse, with the ‘M’ of Scottorum missing from the obverse.
