William de Helewyk, master

Biography
Watt, Graduates, 263: William de Hellewyk (Illewyc?) occurs as Master soon before 1240. His surname is unusual and may have come from Ellewic (now Elwick), near either West Hartlepool (Durham) or Belford (Northumberland). He is probably the same as Master William de Illewyc who was given permission by Henry III to leave Oxford in 1238.
