Walter Stewart (II), son of Alan (d.1241)

Biography
Walter was the son of Alan, son of Walter (d.1204), the second hereditary steward of that family. He was born around 1198. He was also Justiciar of Scotia between 1232 and his death in 1241. He had two sons, Alexander Stewart (d.1282) and Walter Bulloch Stewart, earl of Menteith (d.c.1293). [http://www.oxforddnb.com/view/article/49411] Though he is more regularly styled 'steward' from 1219, he does appear with this title earlier in Kelso Liber, no. 222
