Biography
Son of William of Tong. A clerk of the diocese of York, and Notary Public, who was responsible for the Ragman Roll, versions of the Great Rolls (relating to the Great Cause), and various other public instruments. He first appears in 1292; we last hear of him in 1319, when he had been captured by the Scots.
