Silvester of Everdon, bishop of Carlisle (d.1254)

Biography
Silvester was from Everdon in Northamptonshire and was related in some way to the Thurpp/Thorp family. He became vicar of Everdon in 1219 and by 1229 he was in the service of Ralph de Neville (d. 1244), the chancellor of England. He was made archdeacon of Chester in 1245 and in 1246 he was elected bishop of Carlisle, being consecrated on 13 October 1247.
