David Graham (III), sheriff of Berwick (d.c.1272)

Biography
David Graham, a member of a junior branch of the family, served Patrick, fifth earl of Dunbar, and was deputy justiciar of Lothian in 1248. He was a Comyn ally and was confirmed in 1253 by the king in the lands of Eliston and Kinpunt in the west of Lothian, Dundaff and Strathcarron in Stirlingshire, and lands in Cunningham and Carrick; he also received lands from the earl of Lennox which would form the basis of the Graham barony of Mugdock, while land in Perthshire granted by Malise, earl of Strathearn, would form the barony of Kincardine. Graham was sheriff of Berwick by 1264. He died c.1272 and was succeeded by his son, Patrick. C.A. McGladdery, 'Graham family', ODNB, xxiii, 169; [http://www.oxforddnb.com/view/article/54211]
