Simon, bishop of the Isles (d.1248)

Biography
Watt and Murray, Fasti, 260: Simon was an Argyll man and was consecrated at Bergen, Norway, as bishop of the Isles in 1226, perhaps in August or September, to succeeded John (d.1226). He died on the Isle of Man on 28 February 1248 and was buried in the cathedral of St German at Peel. He was in charge of the bishopric of Argyll 1228×36, but asked to be removed from office since he was 'unable to carry on the care of both sees on account of his many infirmities' (Diplomatarium Norvegicum, vol. 7, ed. G. Storm (Christiania, 1898), no. 12)
