Biography
Paisley Abbey is located on the White Cart Water (RNF), in the diocese of Glasgow, and was founded by Walter, son of Alan, as a Cluniac priory at Renfrew around 1163 before moving to Paisley around 1169. It was raised to an abbey in July 1219.
