Robert de Breteuil, earl of Leicester (d.1204)

Biography
Robert de Breteuil was the second son of Robert de Breteuil, earl of Leicester (d.1190) and his wife, Petronilla de Grandmesnil (d.1212), daughter of Guillaume de Grandmesnil. He had an elder brother, William, who died in 1189, making Robert heir to the earldom. His younger brother, Roger, would become bishop of St Andrews (d.1202). Robert also had two sisters, Amice (d.1215), who succeeded to the estates following his death without heirs, and Margaret, who married Saher de Quincy (d.1219). He married Loretta de Briouze (d.1266), daughter of William (III) de Briouze, but they had no children. Robert died on 20/21 October 1204 and was buried in the Augustinian abbey of Leicester that November. D.
