Thomas of Perth (Bell), master (fl.1259-75)

Biography
Watt and Murray, Fasti, 62, 162: Thomas of Perth (also Bell) occurs as precentor of Brechin on 22 August 1259, and again in December 1275. On 2 Aug. 1263, he appears as official of Dunkeld and had been a canon of that church. His surname is once given as 'Perth dictus Bell' and had a brother, David, who always witnessed alongside him. Watt, Graduates, 477 (under Perth): Thomas had a nephew, Simon Bell, also a Master. Thomas was Master by 1258x61 and was later an official of Dunkeld. He was also precentor of Brechin and was still in possession c.1279. he was dead by 1273x84. Another official is found on October 1282.
