Freskin Murray, knight, lord of Duffus

Biography
Freskin was nephew of William Murray, first earl of Sutherland. He married Lady Joanna of Strathnaver (d.a.1269), co-heiress of Earl Magnus of Caithness (d.1239), who is traditionally viewed as a daughter of Moddan family of the Dales, related in marriage to Harald Maddadson, earl of Caithness and Orkney, or was a daughter of earls of Angus. He certainly had a sister called Matilda, sometimes identified as Matilda, daughter of Malcolm, earl of Angus. Lost Kingdoms, 87-8. They had at least one daughter, Mary, who married Reginald Cheyne younger.
