Handbook of British Chronology, 499: Duncan was the son and heir of Gilchrist, third earl of Angus (d.1204×06), and was first styled earl 1204 × 11 April 1206. He died probably by 4 December 1214 but certainly by 21 March 1225. He was succeeded by his son, Malcolm.
