Matilda d'Aubigny, countess of Strathearn

Biography
Matilda d'Aubigny was the daughter of William d'Aubigny (d.1167/68) and Maud de Senlis, a cousin of Kings Malcolm IV and William I. She married Gilbert, earl of Strathearn (fl.1171-1223). In 1198 they founded the priory of Inchaffray which was elevated to an abbey in 1220 or 1221. They had at least one son, Gilcrist (d.1198), and one daughter, Matilda (Maud), who married Malcolm, earl of Fife (d.c.1228). In C.J.
