Gregory VI, pope (d.1047)

Biography
Kelly, Oxford Dictionary of Popes, 144-45: Gregory was born John Gratian, possibly related to the Pierleoni family, and had been the archpriest of St John at the Latin Gate. He was godfather to Benedict IX, who abdicated in his favour on 1 May 1045. He was deposed on 20 December 1046 and died in late 1047 at Cologne.
