Matthew of Aberdeen, master, clerk

Biography
Watt, Graduates, 1: Occurs as a clerk of William I in 1202×03, though not styled as Master. He possibly served Bishop Matthew of Aberdeen as official. He might be the Matthew who occurs as official of Bishop Richard de Prebenda of Dunkeld, 1203×10, but certainly identifiable with Master Matthew, clerk of Philip de Valognes, chamberlain of Scotland, who appears on 25 June 1212. (cf., Scot, Matthew (d.1230)) Watt and Murray, Fasti, 30: Matthew occurs as official of Aberdeen 1175x99.
