Location uncertain, but probably somewhere in highland Scotland. Maurice or Murdoch of Tyrie is described in the Ragman Roll as 'of the county of Perth' and he appears as well in contexts with ties to Angus and Argyll. Perhaps there was a place called Tyrie, now obsolete, in highland Perthshire, or perhaps this refers to Tyrie in Aberdeenshire or Tyrie in Fife.
