Description
David II, king of Scots, has placed the burgesses of his burgh of Ayr and their men and possessions under his firm peace and protection. He has also granted that no one may take poinds from them or their men for debts, pledges or forfeitures, saving his burghs. He also commands his justiciars, sheriffs, grieves and their baillies that all those in his bailliaries or burghs who owe debts to the said burgesses or to their attorneys be compelled to pay them without delay, as long as the burgesses are able to prove such debts are owed.
