Description
David, king of Scots, has given Kelso abbey that they shall possess the vill of Kelso (ROX), the barony of Bowden (ROX) and the land of Redden (ROX) in free regality, with the pleadings of the crown and other things pertaining to a regality. He commands his justiciars, sheriffs of Roxburgh, coroners, grieves and their baillies and his other officers not intervene in the aforesaid vill, barony and land, and not to take prises, captions, tallages, arriage or carriage or suits of court.
