Description
David, king of Scots, has given his beloved and faithful James of Sandilands the barony of Wiston (LAN) in the sheriffdom of Lanark which William of Livingston knight held of the king hereditarily in chief restored to him by staff and baton at Holyrood abbey on 1 Sept. 1345 in the presence of the great men and nobles of the realm, resigning all right to the said barony; to be held by James and his heirs and assigns in feu and heritage, as freely as William possessed it, for service owed and wont.
