David, king of Scots, has given John of Preston for his homage and service that apportionment (propartem) in the barony of Gorton in Lothian which recently was Margaret of Gorton's, which she resigned by staff and baton in her pure widowhood in full council recently held at [ ], in the presence of his beloved nephew Robert, steward of Scotland, his lieutenant.
