Description
David, king of Scots, has inspected and truly understood a confirmation charter of Duncan (IV), earl of Fife, in these words. [Charter of Duncan, earl of Fife, inspecting a charter of William lord of Douglas to James Sandilands and Eleanor Bruce his wife of the barony of West Calder in free marriage.] The king confirms the articles of Duncan's charter. And he gives the whole barony of West Calder (MLO) with the homages and services of freeholders of the whole vill of Bangour (WLO) to the same James Sandilands, in feu and heritage, with the homages and services of the freeholders of the barony, with the advowsons of churches, for one pair of gilt spurs or 2s on Pentecost in the name of blanchferme if requested.
