Description
David, king of Scots, to his officers: although Melrose abbey is in the peace of the English through compulsion, the king does not intend for them to lose control of their Scottish possessions. They shall dispose freely from their lands, rents, goods, and possessions, so long as they contribute to the king's ransom.
