Description
David, king of Scots, noting that in his full council held at Scone he revoked all the lands which had been granted previously, has given his beloved and faithful John of Preston knight all that tenement which belonged to the late John Multrer brother of Adam Multrer, lying between the land of John Multrer son of the said Adam, and the land of Alexander Bell in the burgh of Edinburgh (MLO), due to the forfeiture of the said late John Multrer brother of Adam Multrer who died against the king's faith and peace, as well as that tenement of Peter of Selkirk, which came to the king due to the escheat, for Peter killed someone from his kingdom, together with that annual rent of 8s. that was owed by the late William son of Philip from the tenement lying between the land of Alexander Gylyot and the land of William son of Fersyth', which came to the king due to the forfeiture of William's heirs for being against the peace and faith of the king; these lands and annual rent came into the king's hands by faithful inquest made by his chamberlain finding that they belong to the king due to escheat and forfeiture; holding in feu and heritage, for service owed and wont.
