Description
Robert, steward of Scotland, and John Randolph, earl of Moray, lord of Annandale and Man, lieutenants of the most serene prince, Lord David, by the grace of God, king of Scots, to his sheriff and baillies of Kincardine, noting that they have inspected and with competent deliberation truly understood the letters of his lord Robert, of venerable memory, late king of Scots, to Arbroath abbey, quoted here in full. [RRS, v, no. 49; 1/53/55]. Robert and John command the sheriff and baillies to defend the monks in the lands in Kincardineshire.
