Description
David, king of Scots, because his relative Thomas earl of Mar resigned by staff and baton his barony and lands of Terregles (DMF), he has given his beloved and faithful John Herries knight the said barony of Terregles, in feu and heritage, with right of patronage or advowsons of churches, with mills and multures, with bondsmen, bondages, neyfs and their offspring, with courts and escheats, with pit and gallows, sake and soke, toll, team and infangenthef, as freely as any barony is held in his kingdom of Scotland, saving his service owed and wont.
