Description
David, king of Scots, due to the damages of war which have caused the charters and other documents of churches, which were granted by his progenitors the kings of Scots and others, were taken away, burned and destroyed; the king now wills and grants, under threat of stern punishment, that the cathedral church of the Holy Trinity of Brechin, should in the future have full use of and enjoy freely and without detriment, all its possessions, liberties, foundations, customs, boundaries, limits and privileges whatsoever, in terms of persons and property, of which it had the use and enjoyed in the time of his ancestors, kings of Scotland, and particularly in the time of his father [Robert I].
