Description
David, king of Scots, through the inspection of charters of his forefathers the kings of Scotland, understands the liberties and rights of Dunfermline abbey and their burghs. He has given that their burgesses and merchants in Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy, Musselburgh and Queensferry may buy and sell any goods they like, saving to the king the great custom of wool, leather, and hides.
