Description
David, king of Scots, has given his beloved and faithful William Lindsay all the land of Byres in the constabulary of Haddington and the sheriffdom of Edinburgh, which Alexander Lindsay knight resigned to him at Perth on 16 Jan, 1367, by staff and baton in the presence of many nobles; holding by William and his male heirs of the body, legitimately procreated, failing which, to Alexander Lindsay and his legitimate male heirs, in feu and heritage, as freely as Alexander held it, for service owed and wont.
