Description
David, king of Scots, granted hereditarily by charter to Alexander Stewart knight all the ferme that he is owed from the barony of Cambusnethan (LAN) but this grant was revoked due to the general revocation which was made after his release from captivity in England, and that the same ferme was reversed into his hands as a consequence, and that with the deliberation of his full council, the donation which he made to John of Edmonstone knight of the same ferme has been reversed, together with arrears owed from the time of the revocation, and that the same Alexander made an agreement. with the said John, finally satisfying him. The said agreement restores Alexander to full and pristine possession as before the revocation. [RRS, vi, no. 100, quoted in full.] The king gives this to Alexander in feu and heritage, in perpetual possession.
