Description
David, king of Scots, has granted his beloved and faithful James Douglas, knight, the leadership of all his men throughout the kingdom. He grants also to the said knight that the said men will not be fined or punished due to their absence from the days of truce or cavalry expedition in the marches or otherwise within or outwith the kingdom unless by the said knight. He shall have this for the term of his lifetime.
