Document 1/54/673 (RMS, i, no. 309)

Description
David, king of Scots, due to the inspection of a charter of his late lord progenitor [Robert I], it is clear that James Lindsay, son and heir of the late James Lindsay, knight, and his heirs, ought to receive annually from the great custom of his burgh of Dundee; he commands that John and his heirs be paid 100 marks annually from that custom in the same way that David Lindsay, knight, grandfather of the said James, was wont to receive 100 marks, at the time that the great custom was extended to 12 marks per sack of wool; except that he wills Egidia Lindsay, mother of the said James to have one third part of the 100 marks, annually for her lifetime, paid by the chamberlain and customars.
