Description
David, king of Scots, has given Robert Erskine, knight, his relative, for the term of his life, keepership of Stirilng castle, with the office of sheriff of the same, with the powers of the sheriff there, and the constabulary and gatekeepership, for whom he will respond, and for the support of the castle, 14 chalders of wheat annually from Bothkennar (STL), and 100 marks sterling from the hand of chamberlain. He also grants Robert all the lands, fermes and renders belonging to him in the sheriffdom of Stirling, with the wards, reliefs, and escheats.
