Description
David, king of Scots, has granted at feu-ferme, or if in feu, in perpetual tack, to the burgesses and community of the burgh of Montrose, his whole burgh of Montrose (ANG); holding in perpetuity, in feu and heritage, with the territory and common pasture of the burgh, with the fisheries of the North Esk and South Esk, with toll, small custom, courts and their profits, as freely as any burgh is held in the kingdom of Scotland; rendering annually 16 pounds on Pentecost and Martinmas by equal portions.
