[COLDINGHAM EXTENT CONT.] EAST RESTON (BWK): The Prior of Coldingham has there two tofts and a half ploughgate of land, which is called 'the land of Scissors', worth yearly 13s 4d. The same has one toft and two oxgangs of land, called 'Punderland', worth 8s yearly. The same has one toft and 21 acres, which were the land of Simon of Swinwood, worth 8s yearly. The same has one toft and one oxgang, which Robert son of John's, worth 40d yearly. The same has there one toft and two oxgangs, which were Eda Cantor's, worth 6s. The same has there one toft and two oxgangs and four acres, which were John Lauerd's worth 8s. The same has there one toft two acres and a half, which were Eda Cantor's, worth 4s. The same has there two tofts and a half ploughgate of land, which were Patrick Scot the Long's (?), worth 12 yearly, which used to pay 20s in rent. The same has one toft and 55 acres of the land of John Lauerd worth 18s 4d yearly, at 4d per acre. The same has one toft and 15 acres, which were William Merling's, worth 5s yearly. The Sacristan of Coldingham has three tofts, one ploughgate and one oxgang, which used to pay in rent 46s, now worth ... Is the Prior of Durham's. FREEMEN: Simon of Swinwood held one toft and eight acres worth 2s 8d yearly: in the hand of the Prior. Patrick son of Margerie holds one toft two oxgangs, worth a half mark: in the hand of the Prior. Adam Swine holds one toft and a half ploughgate of land worth 9s: in the hand of the Prior. Elias son of Roger holds the same, worth yearly 9s: in the hand of the Prior. Ralph held by the gift of Lord Ingram de Guines one toft 21 acres worth 5s: in the hand of the Prior. Henry of Prenderguest holds one toft and a half ploughgate of land, paying in rent 6d yearly, because he is at peace and saised. The same holds one toft and one acre of land and pays no rent. Memorandum that all of the land of the Prior of Coldingham, with the forfeited lands of the same toun, is demitted to Walter of Goswick for nine pounds yearly. Sum total: 118s 10d, because of the lands of the Sacristan.
