[COLDINGHAM EXTENT CONT.]: WEST RENTON (BWK): The Prior's Manor with garden is worth 3s per year. In demesne there are two ploughgates, 8 oxgangs per ploughgate, 13 acres per oxgang. A ploughgate is worth one mark with a separate pasture. There are 47 acres of meadow, of which 17 acres can be mowed every year, worth 12d yearly. The rest of the meadow cannot be mowed. And there is a separate common peatary which pays no rent. And there are three ploughgates of land in bondage, of which two oxgangs with a toft is worth a half mark annually. In the same there are six oxgangs of land demitted at farm worth 3s 4d per oxgang. One toft with two acres and a brewhouse is worth yearly 18d. In the same there are five cottages to which belong ten acres, worth 12d each. Walter Ayre held a half ploughgate of land worth one mark: inquest to be held.
