Description
Gilbert, bishop of Whithorn, has dedicated three altars in Finchale Priory, that is, great altar in honour of St John the Baptist, another in honour of Blessed Virgin, and third in honour of Blessed Cuthbert the Patron, and indulges to everyone who comes there 40 days on day of dedication and during octaves. He also grants same indulgence on St John the Baptist's day and octaves. He also gives and grants to fabric of same church 20s. annually paid on St John the Baptist's day or St Godric's day.
