Description
Arnold, bishop of St Andrews, for Kelso Abbey; establishes liberty which it had in time of Bishop Robert, namely that church of Kelso should be free and quit of all episcopal subjection and exaction, so that abbot and monks may receive ordination, chrism and oil and rest of the sacraments from whichever bishop they wish. He also establishes churches of Makerstoun (ROX), Home (BWK) with parish of villa and of one Gordon (BWK), Greenlaw (BWK) with chapel of Lambden (BWK), Fogo (BWK), Simprim (BWK), St Laurence of Berwick (BWK) with parish and teinds and rights which Bishop Robert established, and Keith (Humbie, ELO)
