Description
Brice, bishop of Moray, has besought Pope Innocent [III], who has commanded the bishops of St Andrews and Brechin and the abbot of Lindores to enquire into which church should hold the honour of the cathedral title. They decided in favour of the church of Holy Trinity of Spynie as the cathedral church of Moray. With the authority of the pope, Bishop Brice has assigned eight prebends to the cathedral church of Spynie, which prebends he sets up according to the statutes of Lincoln Cathedral.
