Description
Geoffrey, bishop of Dunkeld, to abbots of Rievaulx, Fountains and Beaulieu in England, judges, on case called between abbot and convent of Cîteaux and abbot and convent of Coupar Angus, noting that in regard to collation of church of Airlie (ANG) to house of Coupar by Sir Alexander, king of Scots, in consideration of services of Alexander, late abbot of Coupar, on king's business at curia and elsewhere, king, with consent of William, at that time bishop of St Andrews, bestowed church to house of Coupar, reserving a yearly payment of £20 to house of Cîteaux by abbot of Coupar and supplicating that they will ordain nothing to contrary, since Cîteaux has no other claim upon church of Airlie except for foresaid £20.
