Description
King Alexander II has granted composition which was made between Newbattle Abbey, for one part, and Holyrood Abbey, for other, concerning teinds of Preston (ELO), teinds of land held by Newbattle in the Carse (STL), teinds of Crawford (LAN) and of common pasture of Romanno (PEB), and teinds of saltworks of Preston and the Carse. He instructs that agreement as made between parties and confirmed by judges-delegate [Alexander], abbot of Coupar, [William], abbot of Dunfermline, and [William], abbot of Scone, which was read out and presented in king's court, is to be inviolably upheld, according to notification of settlement sealed by judges-delegate and by W[illiam Malveisin], bishop of St Andrews, and W[illiam] del Bois, chancellor and archdeacon of Lothian.
