Description
King Alexander II for St Andrews Cathedral Priory; has granted that they and their serviens may, with king's firm peace, buy grain and other necessities for their own use free of toll and custom; forbids anyone to annoy them or their buyers (emptores) contrary to this liberty, on pain of his full forfeiture; and commands sheriff in whose sheriffdom any injury is done to prior and canons to make good their losses, and to take king's forfeiture fully from offenders.
