King David to bishop of St Andrews, earl of Fife, and men of Fife, prohibiting that the abbot of Dunfermline's men of Newburn (FIF) be compelled to answer in respect of lawsuits or charges brought against them save in abbot's court; he instructs that his dempster (iudex) of Fife attend with men who shall come to the abbey court to be impleded
