Document 1/8/135 (RRS, iv, no. 140)

Description
Alexander, king of Scots, makes known that marriage contracted by him and , Guy, count of Flanders and marquis of Namur, between his son, Alexander, and his heir, and lady Margaret, daughter of Guy, which he has by lady Isabelle, his wife, daughter of count of Luxembourg, was said to take place within octaves of St Michael 1282. Although marriage has not yet taken place within this term, king wishes that Margaret not be put in arrears for past term and that no prejudice should result for her dowry. Alexander, son and heir of his dear father, king of Scots, wishes this to be held firm for lady Margaret, his dear wife, as in these letters by his lord and father, and of those himself.
